Yes, they might. It has happened before, though in a more extreme case than yours.

This is in respect on whether your marriage is considered to be genuine. It doesn't mean the HO have accepted you have the legal right to remain in the UK...before you are officially married.

As I've already said, it's now not about whether your relationship is genuine, but more about the fact that you are in the UK illegally.

There is the possibility, as shown in the link posted earlier by Richard W

It looks good. Don't forget to check they you provide evidence that your wife is genuinely working.

Don't forget to tell the Home Office if you move house again before you get your residence card.

Congrats Sidali for registering your marriage here in the U.K. I need help as I am also adviced by a solicitor to register my marriage here in the U.K. I am an overstayer as well and lived together with my partner for 15 months with a child together. I need your advice about giving notice to the registrar to marry. Am scared of being detained. Your reply is appreciated. Thanks.

Thank u brother . First u have to give notice in register office they'll make for u and your wife small interview questions abt your wife name surname her mother name father name if she has brothers or sisters . Abt your address with her . Not more than 15 mn and they'll ask her the same ( u need proof of address for u and ur wife ) she can use her bank statement and for u utility bill or house contract . They don't accept internet bill (there's register office accept one proof of address each others they ask for 2 each ) after that she will tell u your subject to immigration control and u have to wait 28 days to get answer . Exactly in 28 days they sent letter for me saying that they decide to investigate our marriage . And they'll call us for interview . Our lawyer he answer them and he said they are ready for interview if the interview required . After 50 days they sent for me another letter that I have complied with investigation and I can go ahead for my marriage after 70 days notice ppl they told me that they can come to home after this letter . But they didnt come after 70 days notice I went and got marry normal they didnt come to register office as well . So brother go ahead wish u good luck bro

Thank you very much Sidali. You are a star. I really appreciate your response. With regards to the proof of address I only have talktalk phone bill and TV licensing in my name. Will that be acceptable?
My second question are you doing your application by yourself or with the help of a solicitor.
