UK Ancestry Visa - Proof of funds for 90 days

Post by holly2121 » Mon Jul 17, 2017 9:39 pm

Hi,

I'm about to apply for a UK ancestry visa and will have the required amount of funds in my account by the time of my appointment, but will not have had the full amount in my account for the prior 90 days to when I apply - I wasn't aware of this until recently. My bank statements don't show anything dramatic but a monthly income and rent payments, so it fluctuates.. as most people's do.
I'm struggling to find anything concrete about this 90 day period thing and wondered if anyone else had been through this and whether they know or not if that's really the be all and end all?

Thanks!

Kindly refrain from posting in UKM topics from 2015 regarding your ancestry questions. The post has been removed.

You need your full birth certificate for the ancestry visa.

Why is it not available?

A birth certificate was not issued as birth registration was not compulsory in the country in which he was born at the time. He has used his baptism certificate throughout his life in the same ways most people would use their birth certificates.

Which country would that be from?

Are you asking on behalf of someone else or for yourself? Your two posts conflict re who you are asking for.

The visa is for my partner - not that it really makes a difference for my question. It was easier to say it was for me on a forum post. The issue is that his father was born in India and was not issued a birth certificate - only a baptism certificate. I saw that you had asked someone previously if they had a baptism certificate hence why I thought to ask if this would be acceptable.
