The time issue of my BRP card

Post by elm3388801 » Wed Jul 19, 2017 2:22 am

Hello,
I am a Tier 2 visa holder in the UK, a 5 years working visa,
I just wondering if I can directly apply for the PR in the UK after the expiration of this visa.
or I need to extend my working visa then I can do it?

Many thanks!

You need 5 uears residence and you must meet all the requirements for ILR then you can apply.

Note that "PR" is the term for migrants on the EU/ERA route.

Thanks for your answer!
But, I mean if after a few years later, when I get ILR successfully. How long I need to stay in the UK in each year to keep the qualification of ILR? Because I want to look after my parents in hometown and also sometimes there will have a lot freelance job in Shanghai. So I just wondering how long I can stay in China in that time each year?

Many thanks

ILR is lost after 2 years or more outside the uk. Short visits do not maintain ILR status.
