Query for wife's Tier 1 General dependent visa extension

Hello Experts,

I have query regarding my wife's Tier 1 General dependent visa extension. Her situation is as below:

She has got Tier 1 General dependent visa first time on August 2013 valid until Jan 2015.
She has got an extension of Tier 1 dependent visa on Jan 2015 valid until Jan 2018.


I have become British citizen on April 2016.
Now the question is: she will apply for another extension on January 2018. Will she get only 7 months Tier 1 General dependent visa to make 5 years to get eligible for ILR?
Also, I heard that Tier 1 General Extension will not be considered to get ILR from April 2018? Is it true?

An extension is for 3 years, you cannot apply for a lesser duration.

This is ONLY applicable to tier 1 general MAIN visa holders and not dependents.
