Surname Change on Indian Passport

Hi,
My Son name is Sxxxxxx mxxxxxxx but in his passport Given name Sxxxxxxx and Surname Mxxxxxxxx. Father name is missing in first page. Only father and mother name is in last page. I want to change his surname in his passport. How do I change ? Which way is better? I am living in uk and we plan to apply for ILR next year.

If you change the passport, you will also have to apply for a new BRP card for the child.
