Can a tier 2 visa holder apply as dependent for ILR?

Post by Cocoaliz » Sun Jul 23, 2017 8:00 pm

Hello,

I currently hold a tier 2 work visa and will become eligible for the ILR in next year in December. However my husband who also holds a tier 2 work visa is eligible for ILR now. Can I apply for ILR along with him right away as a dependent or should I wait until December next year?

Thanks

No you cannot because you do not hold a Tier 2 General dependent visa.

Thanks for your response.

If I convert to tier2 dependent visa, would that reset my clock for ILR?

Thanks

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
