Tier 2 General PBS dependent Extension

Post by dipowen » Tue Feb 14, 2017 3:38 pm

Hi,

I am looking to extend my wife's PBS dependent visa. She got the visa based on my Tier 2 which has been converted into an ILR (August 2014). She applied for a PBS dependant leave to remain at that time and got it in September 2014 (valid for 3 years).

We are looking to apply for Schengen visa for travel in May 2017 and one of the requirements is that she has a valid visa for at least 6 months after our return date. This would mean her PBS dependent visa would need to be renewed now. Would that be a problem? Can an application be made this early and would they give a visa for the 2 years 7 months she would need to get her required 5 years for ILR in future?

The link I have managed to find is:

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-partner

Is this the correct link for application?

Thanking you all in advance.

Were you granted ILR under the 5 year route or 10 years long residence?

Correct link and an extension will be granted for 3 years. Don't forget to pay the £600 immigration health surcharge. This assumes you got ILR based on Tier 2 G and not Long residence.

My ILR is under the 5 year route.

Do I pay this first/separately or would this be part of the application process?

Likely part of the online application process. If not, see link below.

Hi,

I have started the application process now as my wife's visa expires in September. Using the link in the thread, once i got the application, they ask for Sponsor Licence Number. However, since I am on an ILR, I won't have this.

What should i fill in instead?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Extending Tier 2 General Dependant Form

Post by dipowen » Thu Jul 27, 2017 7:27 pm

Hi,

Sorry for tagging on but I have a similar query.

I am looking to extend my wife's PBS dependent visa. She got the visa based on my Tier 2 which has been converted into an ILR (August 2014). She applied for a PBS dependant leave to remain at that time and got it in September 2014 (valid for 3 years).

I can't seem to find the correct link to the forms.

The link I found was:

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-partner

However, in the form it asks for my sponsor license number. Since I am on ILR I do not have this anymore and I have also changed jobs since I got my ILR.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What are you putting in as main applicant details?

We don't have access to the online form so cannot see what you are asked and what you are putting in.

Hi

Apologies, I accidentally clicked on the "child" dependant form which is incorrect.

However, I would like to give more background to the application. I might have got it wrong first time around. So let me try again:

1. My wife applied for dependant/spouse visa of a Tier 2 (General) when she first moved to the UK. Application was made from India. She arrived in July 2014 and the visa was valid till my Tier 2 was due to expire in August 2014.

2. I then moved to ILR in August 2014 based on 5 year route. Once I got my ILR, I then applied for her as a PBS dependant in and she got a 3 year visa (biometric) in September 2014.

3. I need to renew the visa now which is due in Sept 2017. Which application should I be using?

Hope the above it clear if not please let me know and I can clarify further.

Thanks in Advance

Thanks CR001,

Looking at the form, I have another question if you could kindly help.

There is a question which asks what was your sponsor's (i.e. mine) previous visa status to which there is no ILR option but it does say if I got the ILR based on Tier 2 (General) route to select that. So I did. The next question asks for the length of the COS. Less than 3 years or more than 3 year. This is where I am confused. As the COS would have only been when I had my Tier 2 and once I have moved to ILR does it still apply? Not sure what to select.

Thanks in Advance.

Thanks alot.

In terms of the Immigration Health Surcharge then, I am asked for the COS start and end dates. I think this determines how much I will have to pay. What do I put over here considering I am on an ILR and don't have a COS?

Or do I select:

1. Applying alone

2. Then on "what is your visa route" there are two options which i am confused:
(a) PBS Dependant (Tiers 1,2 and 5)
(b) Tier 2 PBS Dependant

are these the same? Not sure which one I should chose for mine.

3. If I select (b) above, then there is "what is your visa type"
(a) Tier 2 General; over 3 years
(b) Tier 2 General; up to 3 years
I assume I select (b) here too as my wife had up to 3 years at the start and just needs 2 years to complete her 5 years to get ILR in future?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

select less than 3 years.
As a thumb rule, u will be given a visa of exactly 3 years. So u should be paying £600.

Thank you for your reply.

In the main application form, I clicked to pay the IHS charge and it also asked for my details. So it asks which

1. Visa expiry - Do I put my ILR expiry here? It is expriring in 2024!
2. Visa route (there is no ILR option) - I assume I select "tier 2" here
3. Visa type (once I select "tier 2" in 2 above) - "Tier 2 (General): up to 3 years" or "Tier 2 (General); over 3 years"

Can someone please help with the above?

Thanks

Already told u to put 3 years expiry date and select less than 3 years duration.
your ilr doesnt expire in 2024, its the card that expires.
