Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK?

Post by gillcanada » Sun Jul 30, 2017 7:16 pm

Hello!

I am applying for my spousal visa using the Online application form to stay in the UK as a married partner of a UK citizen (I am currently here on a Tier 4 Student visa).

Everything with the application form seems manageable, but one question is unclear to me. The form asks "Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK?" but doesn't give guidance on what what "lived" means. For example, I spent 6 months in Ghana volunteering ten years ago, but I'm not sure if that counts as having lived there.

Any thoughts on if to include my time in Ghana or not? I wonder if the Home Office would want a police cert or something showing that I do not have a criminal record from there, but I'd have a very hard time getting such a thing as it was so very long ago.

Any help much appreciated!!

List all countries you have lived, i.e. not been on holiday, so yes, list Ghana.
