Switching from Tier 1 General to ILR dependant

Post by msatyavarapu27466 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 10:18 am

Hello,

I would be really grateful if some once could advise me on the following.

I am on tier 2 general dependent visa and I am eligible for 10 years long residence visa this August.
However I am planning to switch my wife to ILR dependent visa(she is the main (Tier 2 general) applicant) once I get my ILR sorted, as she has another 2 years to get her ILR.

We require advise on following points:
Her current visa expires in Feb 2018, can my wife switch to ILR spouse visa once I get my ILR or does she need to wait until her current visa expires?
What application form does she need to fill as part of this application.
Can she apply to switch to other visa category in UK?

She can apply as soon as you get ILR. She will also have to pay the IHS plus the visa fee. This will reset her clock to zero and a new 5 years (2 x 2.5 year visas) before qualifying for ILR unless she reaches 10 years long residence first.
What application form does she need to fill as part of this application.
FLR(M) and Appendix 2.
Can she apply to switch to other visa category in UK?
She can apply for FLR(M) within the UK, if that is what you mean by 'other visa category'. She will have to inform her employer once the visa is granted.
