UK Ancestry Visa - Becoming a Dependent??

Post by etimms89 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 2:19 pm

Hello!

My partner and I are Aussies working in London on the Tier 5 Visa. My partners grandmother was born in Glasgow and he is planning to return to AUS to switch over to the Ancestry Visa. I am planning on being his dependent (been together 8 years, living together for 5).

My question is...do I need to return to Aus with him? and if so can I put in my application at the same time as his or do I need to wait until his has been approved?

Thanks :)

You can apply within the UK but you must wait for him to return to the UK with his approved visa before you can apply. You can only apply at the same time if you are both in Australia.
