Ancestry Visa renewal waiting times

I applied to renew my Ancestry Visa in June. When they received the application the Home Office sent me an email stating that it will take 6 months to process the application as that is their service standard. However, on their website it says that the service standard for Ancestry Visa's is 8 weeks. I received another email again stating that the application is under consideration and that they hope to process it in 6 months because that is their service standard. Why am I being told that the service standard for Ancestry Visas is 6 months when on their website the stated service standard is 8 weeks?

It is a normal standard email. Most applicants get it. Applications CAN take up to 6 months. HO just covering themselves in case there are delays.

If you wanted a decision sooner, then you could have applied in person for a same day decision.
