Visa application country

Hi,
I got Research Assistant position in an UK university. Currently I am working in Saudi Arabia. As I have resigned from the current position I may have to leave permanently this country in another 15 days. If I don't receive 'Certificate of Sponsorship' (CoS) before I leave Saudi, can I apply for UK Tier 2 General visa from my origin country India?
I fear, the UK Visa officer in India would question why I am applying from India, as the CoS was issued based on my job profile in Saudi Arabia. And then I cannot even come back to Saudi Arabia.
Can anybody suggest what I should do. Should I extend my stay in Saudi Arabia and apply visa from here itself instead of India? Does it affect my visa prospects if I apply in country of origin instead of country of residence.
I would be thankful to the members of this board for their valuable suggestions.

Hi ashfaq_m78,

You can ask your employer use your Indian address on COS I do not think then Visa officer will ask any questions.

Unfortunately, the sponsoring university has already applied for CoS. I guess that they might have used my Saudi address while applying for the CoS.
In such a case where my resident country (Saudi) address has been used in CoS, can I apply from my Origin country (India)?
My travel date to India is very near and I have to take a decision now. Please suggest if I can apply visa in India, even though the CoS has been issued with the Saudi address.
I would be thankful to the members for their valuable insights in my case.
