Returning UK 12 days before Spouse Visa expires

Hi,

This should be a quick one.

I am a British citizen and my wife is non-EEA citizen who holds spouse visa. Her visa is expiring on 20th Oct, 2017 and she is going to extend it.

We are planning to travelling in 2nd week of September, returning on 8th Oct 2017 and apply for the visa extension after our arrival. All the requirements for spouse visa extension are fulfilled.

My question is:
a) Will she be stopped at the border while re-entering the UK because she has only 12 days left before the visa expires?

b) She wants to avoid paying premium price by making postal application. Should she rather go for the premium service to be on the safe side?

No issues to re-enter the UK as long as her visa is valid at the time.

She has a valid visa, there is no reason to refuse her entry.
