Tier 2 General/ILR COS Start date clarifications

Post by Karl1234 » Wed Aug 09, 2017 1:39 pm

Hi Respected members,

I have a tricky situation here and I desperately need your help please. I entered in UK on June 2012 in Tier 2 General Route and am applying for ILR next month.

I changed by COS sponsor in June 2013 and Joined my new employer on June 2013 itself. The problem is only now I noticed that I left the job from my first company on 28th June 2013 and joined the new company on 29th June 2013.

When I checked by COS sponsored by second company the start date mentioned as 10th June 2013 and I also got visa approved using premium service on 10th June 2013 and got my BTP on July 2013.
But in my P45 of first company the last working date is mentioned as 28th June 2013 which Is 18 days past my COS start date of second company.

So will this be noted when am applying my ILR ? Since my first and second company are closely related I was not aware of visa migration hence I only noticed this now.

I also had my Tier 2 general visa extension last year without any issues but I am not sure this 2 weeks I worked with my first employer can cause issues in my ILR application.

Your help would be really appreciated.

Hi CR001,

Thanks for your reply, one quick question in case if the case worker point it out that I worked with previous employer after the COS was sponsored by another employer do I tell them as it is unknowingly or it can impose any legal issues on my side which can cause my ILR an issue ? Sorry its just an elaborated question to my concern I hope wont post many questions but your answer will be really helpful.

You are permitted to serve your notice period. Many have done this and not had any issue.
