Tier 1 Investor (Dependent) to Tier 2 General (Main)

Post by Wonderberry » Wed Aug 09, 2017 2:47 pm

Hello,

I came here again for help on a matter that has confused my entire Immigration department at my workplace!

My wife is a Tier 1 Investor and I have spent 3 years in the country as a dependent. Now we cannot extend Tier 1 and I have requested Tier 2 at my workplace and they have agreed to help me. But they can't seem to agree whether I can switch from within UK or I have to go back home and apply from there.

I googled and found a topic in this forum from 2012 where the answer was "no". Did that change by any chance?

Thank you!

No.
From dependent to main applicant, u will have to apply from home country.
You will need restricted cos, and correct rlmt with proof that u were not pre-selected.

What about Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Test and English test? I did TB back in 2014 when we applied for Tier 1, but never did English test (wasn't needed due to being dependent). Do you reckon they will ask for those now?

its not that they will ask. Its required and u must provide one, unless u have a uk degree.

Is it from an HO approved test provider and the UKVI IELTS (SELT)?
Char (CR001 not Casa)

It is Module: IELTS for UKVI (Academic) from British Council. You got me worried here. Am I safe?
