can a tier 2 dependant switch to tier 4 student visa?

Post by mgrg » Wed Aug 16, 2017 8:53 pm

hi everyone,
I am under tier 2 visa. Is it possible for my wife to switch into tier 4 visa so that i can be her dependant?
I understand many of you must be curious why would i need to do that, but there are reasons behind it and i am pretty sure i am not the only one to think about it.
I need some genuine advices please because i have heard from some people that tier 2 dependant can only apply for tier 4 visa from home country.

As a Tier 2 Dependent your wife isn't under a visa category which permits switching to Tier 4 from within the UK. She can only apply from her home country.

Thank you casa for your reply. Incase her tier 4 visa is refused, can she enter uk with the dependant visa she currently holds, or she has to re apply for tier 2 dependant visa again?
Thank you again.

As I'm not 100% sure on this, I'll leave it to others to respond who are better placed to advise.
