Would wife need to reapply for dependent visa

Post by Driver27 » Fri Aug 18, 2017 8:00 pm

Hi

I have ILR on the 10 year route. My wife is currently on a Spouse/Partner Visa (dependent).
If I apply for naturalisation would my wife's visa need to be renewed? Current visa expires in March 2019

Thanks

If she applied for the 2.5 year spouse visa after you got ILR then NO, there is no need to change as it is the same visa whether you hold ILR or are British.

That's great thanks very much. I did apply for her 2.5 year visa after my ILR. At least that's one less thing to worry about.

The advantage is, that once she is granted ILR, she can apply for citizenship immediateyl if you are British and there is no need to wait 12 months on ILR first (provided she meets all the requirements).
