Where is your ex-husband ? In UK?
Also, has the kid been living with you since your divorce?

You would need to prove you have sole responsibility and an affidavit or permission from your ex spouse, particularly if he leaves the UK. Is your husband on a tier 2 dependent visa?

My husband has dependant visa, we are not divorced yet. But if he had left UK after divorce would I need to get permission from him to extend a visa for a kid?

That would be legal step of your divorce. You have to make sure you get the custody of the child after the divorce. But he gets the custory and become the guardian of the child then I guess it would not be easy to extend the visa for the child. Does he want to keep the child?

Highly likely HO will ask why the husband dependent is not applying if they have a record of his previous application.

If you divorce before your visa extension is due, you might need to notify UKVI about the divorce since your spouse is/was your dependent. Also as others have advised, divorce or not, you will need the consent of the other parent in order to extend the visa for your child.
I am not a lawyer and do not claim to be one. All my comments here are based on my opinions, experience and interpretation of the appropriate UKVI guidance documents and immigration rules.
