Restricted COS for Existing employee

Post by Binarygals » Wed Aug 23, 2017 2:30 pm

Hi everyone, My employer is ready to sponsor me a Tier 2 general visa, I am currently working on Tier 2 ICT dependent visa. My visa is valid till 2019 however my husband is going back in 2-3 months time. I have already resigned from my position so that they could post the advert in the market and find my replacement. My last date is after the RLMT end date.

Will I have to appear for the interview?
If they don't find any suitable candidate, will they be able to offer me the job as I am their existing employee without me appearing for the interview?

It wasn't necessary to resign. They could run the RLMT even if you are employed.

Thank you for your response. It's an internal process to release the job in the market to get the job role out in the market. So does that mean if they don't find any suitable candidate, they can tell the border agency that they wish to retain me and I wouldn't have to appear for the interview? I am not worried about the interview but the process itself. My employer is highly reputed And since they rarely issue Tier2, I wish things to go smoothly as they will be carrying out the RLMT in 10 different sites. My chances are nil however if I am the only one, I wouldn't want to lose the chance for silly mistakes which might give a wrong impression of preselection which is not the case with my application.
