Hi,
I would like to apply for wife's visitor visa, Me and my daughter have British passport. Its just I am not sure, my current financial documents are what UKBA is looking, hence I am thinking probably applying for visitor visa for now and later when I am ready, I could apply for spouse visa.
Is there any rule, which prohibit me applying for visitor visa ?

The question you have to ask yourself is what strong ties does she have in home country that will convince the ECO that she will leave the UK with a husband in the UK.

Great way of putting it. I am stunned by your answer you put its so logically. So that is a No then.
Now, could you please solve one big puzzle for me. I have received salaries + plus dividend during full financial year of my company Nov 2015 -- Nov2016, equivalent to £19300 which satisfies the income needed. Now remember this is company financial year which is different to UK's financial year which runs from 5th of April to 5th of April following year. My income of £19300 gets slipts between two financial years 2015, 2016.
so am i eligible to apply on basis of that ?

Doesn't matter about financial periods, what matters is last six months income, supported by wage slips and dividend vouchers (and minutes to be certain), and I think, since UKVI considers one-man companies as self-employment, your CT600 showing corporation tax paid. CT is due roughly 9 months after company year end which would be about now for you, so enclose that too.

Thanks for clearing this, I think in case of Limited company, financial year is the year which covers most recent CT600, and all personal and business statements should cover the 12 months of CT600 NOT the self assessments periods which runs from April to April. That has been the most confusing part for me.

Please continue your spouse visa question in your other topic you already have in the Immigration for Family members sub forum.
This topic you started for a 'visitor visa' and I hope it wasn't a sneaky way to change tactic to another spouse visa questions thread in a different sub forum. This topic will now be locked.
