I think that the removal of the SET(O) guidance relating to adult dependent children of a Long resident's applicant puts them in a difficult position.

The Long residence guidance is of little help, if there are no applicable immigration rules for them.

Consider seeking professional advice.
Hi Vinny,

I just want to know if there is any development on this situation.
I just got my ILR through 10yrs long residency, but I have an adult dependant. What can I do with his situation. My wife is due to get her ILR in few months and my little kids will be registered as British citizen. I dont know where the adult dependant fit in.

Can you help pls.

regards
MacMoh

There were rule changes in April 2014, see link below.

Does your wife have 10 years long residence and is this the basis she is applying for ILR?

How long has the adult dependent been in the UK?

Also, kindly refrain from tagging questions onto topics that are more than 4 years old.

Hi

Thanks For the quick response.
My wife is due for her ILR through 10 years long residency in March 2018.
My adult dependant is on tier 4 dependant visa valid till Sept 2018. As at now he has stayed 6 yrs in UK without travelling out. He is 19yrs and just completed college.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards
Macmoh
