Email from HO for Escalation

We got a reply to our follow up email saying we still considering application and asking us to provide information to escalate to the relevant department ie reason for escatlation, applicants full name, gwf, date of biometrics etc. in a list.
I dont understand why they asking us for this when they already have it. Is a response to this email necessary, is this a good sign and will sending an email in response speed up the application? We are on our 5th month of waiting btw.

Its settlement visa for my wife, the biometric was on the 04/04

There is already a long running topic due to delays in spouse visas, mostly due to the court judgement on income threshold.
