ILR for parents - what is needed for child's travel?

Post by northie-dude » Mon Sep 04, 2017 10:25 pm

Hello,

I am due to apply for my and spouse ILR this week.
Currently I have a T1(G) visa and hence my child has a dependent visa. Child is UK born, currently holding Indian passport.
I want to travel with my child in December'17.

My question is this:
Once I get my ILR, is the child's dependent visa/BRp still valid ?
Can I travel in and out of UK with my child while holding an ILR for myself and the dependent visa for my child?

Not necessary to apply ilr for uk born child, once you get ilr you can register your baby as British citizen, but it's time mater, if you take premium appointment that's not sure that you will get decision on the day, if you get decision on the day you are very lucky but some cases they took even few months specially from tier 1 general, than if you want to register your child as British citizen there is another 3/4 months, but you said you want to travel in December, in that case you should apply ilr for your baby with you.
Still please take advice from senior gurus or solicitor,
Best of luck.

Your childs visa remains valid until date of expiry and the child can travel and return to the UK before visa expiry date.

You DO NOT need ILR for child.

thanks folks.
I also phoned the UKVI line ultimately and got same reply.
That the child's visa is still valid although I now have an ILR.

Yeah, we don't just make this up as we go along.

For once the call centre has given accurate information. More often than not, this is not the case.
