UK spouse visa advice: passport name different to marriage certificate name

My wife and I got married in the US in April and on the US marriage certificate her last name (surname) is listed as being the same as mine, however her US passport still has her maiden name.

We are planning to apply for a UK spouse visa for my wife in a couple of months time - is the difference between my wife's last name on our US marriage certificate and her US passport going to cause us problems?

Her visa will be issued in the same name as in her Passport. If she wants her married name to be used, she will have to apply for a new US passport in her married name.
