Not if you claim under your name.longgapilr wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2017 10:09 pmHi, I recently got the ILR but my wife and kids are still on Tier 2 (General) Spouse/Dependant visa. My wife is a housewife and one of my kids was born in the UK.
If I start claiming benefits, can this have a negative effect on my wife's ILR application?
thank youmakky86 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2017 10:21 pmNot if you claim under your name.longgapilr wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2017 10:09 pmHi, I recently got the ILR but my wife and kids are still on Tier 2 (General) Spouse/Dependant visa. My wife is a housewife and one of my kids was born in the UK.

The one born in the UK is eligible to register as British Citizenlonggapilr wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 12:41 am
Yes, one of them was born in the UK when we were still on Tier 2 (General) before the ILR. The other one was born outside the UK.

My children are still on Tier 2 (General) Dependant visa. If I claim child benefits, will this not impact negatively their ILR/citizenship applications?
The children are not claiming, YOU are.longgapilr wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 10:15 amMy children are still on Tier 2 (General) Dependant visa. If I claim child benefits, will this not impact negatively their ILR/citizenship applications?
My wife is still on Tier 2 (General) Spouse visa. If I claim tax credits in joint names with her, will this not impact negatively her ILR application?

Tax credits MUST be claimed in JOINT names. Not doing so is fraud/deception because you are NOT single. No effect on ILR.
