A2 English Language Test for Spouse Visa Extention

Hello Everyone

I am going to apply a 2.5 years extention visa for my spouse for further leave to remain. My spouse done IELTS when she got her first 2.5 years visa but her IELTS certificate has expired. Question she still use this certificate with extenton visa application or she has to do A2 Test Pass. One of my mate he told me her wife got visa extention last year on same expired IELTS certificate which she used first time to apply her visa. Someone said rule is changed from April 2017. Please give me sincere advice.
