Application submitted

Post by Karlyarly » Tue Sep 26, 2017 2:14 pm

Hi guys, my husband and I got married in September in Brazil (he is Brazillian) after 18 months together. We submitted the application over there and I returned to England. We had advice from a professional on what to include in our application and was confident that we had everything required. Alas, he failed to tell us until the night before we went for the biometrics that we needed to add 3 months worth of my bank statements. We were in a hotel and they had no access to allow me to get into my bank website. Our appointment was early the next day so a mass panic commenced. We managed to find an Internet cafe but for some reason only 1 month of bank statements would print.

Is it likely to get declined without the 3 months worth of bank statements? I have provided 2 years of p60's, a letter of inheritance showing a substantial amount due, and my self assessment showing other earnings. My p60 alone are above the earning threshold. But now I am so worried that it was all wasted because we didn't have the bank statements.

If it gets declined based on this, does anyone know what other options we have, can we apply again straight away including this information? Would that be quicker than appealing?

Hope you can help

Assuming you are British and applied for a spouse/partner settlement visa.
Is it likely to get declined without the 3 months worth of bank statements?
Yes. The form clearly states 6 months payslips and 6 months bank statements. Also, online printed statements are not accepted. They need to be originals from the bank or online printed and stamped/verified by your bank.
I have provided 2 years of p60's, a letter of inheritance showing a substantial amount due, and my self assessment showing other earnings. My p60 alone are above the earning threshold.
Doesn't matter. The requirements are clear. HO want to see the actually money in a genuine original bank statement. Your letter re inheritance is likely not relevant as you don't have the physical funds if the letter states it is only 'due'. If you are self employment, there is a whole lot more in terms of documentation that HO expects to see.
But now I am so worried that it was all wasted because we didn't have the bank statements.

Likely yes.

If you get appeal rights, you can do that but you cannot submit additional evidence. You can apply straight away yes. Reapplying is much quicker than appealing. Appeals are taking a year or more at present.

Can you not send in the evidence from UK? I dont think everything has to be submitted from visa centre. the sponsor surely has a right to send in some support documents.

Can you check this? if you find anything please feedback.

If your biometric appointment was today you are still in your first 10 days presumably

Not all countries have the 'send documents to Sheffield' option.

I was completely confused as online it said that I had to scan it all in at Rabat but in Rabat they told me wife to send it to Sheffield. So the online information appears contradictory to what happened at the centre.
