Tier 2 General Visa Application

Post by anasooyadeb » Tue Oct 03, 2017 4:37 pm

I am going to apply for Tier 2 General visa soon. My company has agreed to sponsor me.

I have few queries and concerns. Appreciate if I get some answers to the below as I am really confused and don't want to make any mistake at any point of time during my visa processing

1) My company has asked me to fill up a form with my personal details which they are going to utilize while creating the Certificate of Sponsorship. The form asks for certain dates like a) Sponsored Start date , b) When will the individual be making the visa application. My question is, how can I know before hand about these dates, is it fine to give a tentative date and are these dates amendable later on, ie even after my company sends these details to HOme Office.

2) I am also looking into documents which I need to submit for my visa application. I do see that Home Office needs a) Knowledge of English language proof b) TB test results
a) Knowledge of English language
I am already in UK on TIER 2Dependent visa and have worked with the same company who are now willing to sponsor me, do I still need to proof or show my Knowledge of English language?

If the above is true and I select the below option i.e.
•having an academic qualification that was taught in English and is recognised by UK NARIC as being equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD
--> I have a degree from University of Mumbai. Do I need to also submit 'Medium of Instruction letter ' to UK NARIC body or only my marksheets and final year degree certificate is enough

b) As mentioned earlier, I am currently in UK on a Tier 2 Dependent visa, so I had already given my TB test while filing the Tier 2 dependent visa initially. This was in 2016
Do I need to get the TB test again for my new visa (Tier 2 General Visa application)

3) Lastly a general question. My passport is due to expire in 2019 . I wanted to know when I get my Tier 2 General Visa which is a 3 year visa, does the passport expiration date considered. Meaning will I be given the entire tenure visa even though my passport is due to expire in 2019? Is there any implications to my new visa because I don't have passport validity of 3 years .

Thanks in advance for all your help

1. Tentative should be fine.

2. Why do you think you are exempt from meeting the English requirement simply due to being in the UK as a PBS dependent working for the same employer?? You were not required to meet the English requirement for your current visa. You must meet it for a Tier 2 General visa otherwise the visa will be refused. You need to follow and submit what the NARIC website asks for. Not sure about TB test but it should not be required if you have been living in the UK for the last 12 months.

3. Your passport must be valid at the time of application. There is no requirement that it must be valid for the duration of your visa. You will only be issued with a 30 day validity visa vignette anyway and not the full duration of your visa. You collect your BRP card when you return to the UK with your new visa.

Presumably, if required, your employer has completed the full and proper RLMT process before offering you the job and that no other settled, BC or EU person applied and was capable of doing the job and that you have been offered a salary of £30,000 or more?
