Dependants appyling in different countries

Post by okuryazar » Mon Sep 25, 2017 12:42 pm

Dear All,
I have been in the UK on Tier 5 Int. Agreement Visa. Our visa (me, my spouse and our two children) expires on 14th October, and I`ll be planning to apply for visa extension on 29th September with my children. However, my spouse can`t apply for the visa at the same time. He must be in our home country for some family reasons. Can he apply in our home country after we made our applications in the UK? if so, should he wait until 14th October, or is it possible to apply before this date?
Kind regards

You can't apply for 'extension of visa' outside the UK. Applications outside the UK are new entry clearance visas.

Extensions can only be applied for within the UK.

Thank you very much CR001. Do you have any idea on what happens if he applies for the dependant visa in our home country after his current visa expires while our application of visa extension is under process?
Kind regards

He cannot apply until you have been granted an extension of your visa.

Thank you so much CR001. I thought so, but does this affect my children (and possibly me) to be granted with the visa as one of the parents is outside the UK?

Assuming you are the main applicant, no issue.

Children might very well be an issue if your spouse is not applying at the same time as them.

Visa expiry

Post by okuryazar » Tue Oct 03, 2017 6:53 pm

Hello Dear All,
Our Tier 5 visa expires on 14th October 2017. Me and my children sent our visa extension application on 29 th September. My husband is abroad and he will be able to come back to the UK tomorrow. Is it possible for him to make a visa application tomorrow? I suppose he can, as long as the visa doesn't expire, but a friend strongly claims that he must have done it 14 days before the expiry date.
