UK citizen retuning to the UK with a NZ husband

Post by PixieNZ » Tue Oct 03, 2017 9:26 pm

I am a UK national, living in New Zealand and married to a NZ citizen. I have also taken NZ citizenship, and have dual nationality.

We would like to return to the UK to live once my husband takes early retirement next year. We appear to have sufficient funds and to meet other criteria.

Is it worth employing an immigration consultant, or is it straight-forward to make an individual application i.e. with no consultant involved?

What are the pitfalls of applying without outside assistance?

Thanks.

Most people apply without using an advisor. It is not a difficult application to make if you meet all the requirements.

By funds, do you mean savings?? If yes, is it at least £62,500 held in an accessible bank account for a minimum of 6 months?

Thanks for your response.

Funds - yes, this is savings. We have more than GBP 62,500 available, and have bank statements for this for at least the last six months.

We also have monthly superannuation from a super fund (available for life), and a private super fund we can also draw on when we arrive. We'd have a monthly "income" (from our super and private fund) of about GBP 1500.
