FLR(M) - Visa End Date Changed, Help!

Post by farrell » Thu Oct 05, 2017 11:27 am

Hi All,

My wife is 'due' to apply for her leave to remain after her initial stay on a spousal visa as part of the 5 year marriage route (flr(M)).

I am fairly confident in filling in the forms and all of the evidence, however when she first arrived from South Africa on her initial stay in April 2015, the SA Home Office issued her visa with the wrong end date (it was set for 2 years instead of 2.5).

We noticed this about 6 months ago and sent it off to be fixed. The new 'fixed' visa shows an end date of January 2018.

My concern is on the 5 year route you're supposed to do 2.5yrs then apply for an extension then a further 2.5 years is my understanding. Should we be applying this month (October, which is 2.5 years after arrival) or wait until December / January, 30 days before her current visa expires. Which is inline with what it says on the gov.uk site?

Thanks all,
Farrell

Applying anytime after 30 months from initial entry and prior to expiry of leave should be fine.
