Visa category help required for spouse of ILR holder

Post by usernaveen » Tue Oct 10, 2017 4:41 pm

My wife is currently living in UK and has a ILR. I'm planning to join her from India and intend to seek employment in UK. I have started my application at the visa4uk website, but have trouble understanding which category of Visa I should apply.
Are the following answers to the questions asked in visa4uk website correct in my case?

Reason for visit: Settlement
Visa type: Settlement
Visa sub type: Husband

In case there is any mistake, please suggest the correct category. Many thanks in advance.

Settlement Visa application from India-Help with procedure

Post by usernaveen » Tue Oct 17, 2017 3:00 pm

Hi,
I'm currently filling the online application form. I have a few doubts regarding it.
  • What are the documents that I need to submit at VFS during my appointment? I know that i have to submit my passport, a colour photo and evidence that you have paid the fee online. Is there anything more? Should i submit appendix 2, sponsorship undertaking form and the additional documents such as maintenance document, relationship documents, NARIC certificate and all?
  • What are the documents that need to be sent to sheffield? Can it be done by my wife who is already in the UK?
  • What is the address of the Sheffiled Office. I have seen different ones in this forum and on the UKVI websites.
If anyone who has applied recently from India could share their experience, it would be great.

Thanks everyone for sharing information and helping out each other.

Here is the link to VFS website that explains the process

https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/india/pdf/I ... icants.pdf

You only need to take
Current an previous passports
Payment recipts
Application form signed
Appointment confirmation

Also please ask all your questions in 1 post as it will be easier for anyone responding to understand your case as it relates to only 1 visa application.
