BRP Valid until question

Post by naval1234 » Thu Oct 19, 2017 3:36 pm

HI All,

Q: When I applied for Tier 2 Visa for the first time back in 2013, I got my BRP which had "Valid until 15th April 2016". I'm trying to confirm when I sent my visa application by post. I'm assuming BRP has 3years +14 days from the date of application. Does this mean I sent my application by post on 1st April 2013?

I do remember I sent it using Royal mail before 6th April, but want to confirm if the above is true.

Thanks in advance

The visa would have been valid from date of approval and not the date of application.

Hi CR001,

I understand that.

So what is the date of approval?

How can I confirm that?

Why not do a Subject Access Request if you don't remember or kept copies of your applications? Impossible for a group of strangers on an internet forum to tell you when you applied.

Your posting history also has a huge gap and you didn't post at all when preparing to apply for that visa as I went to check your history.

Check BRP, both dates will be on Biometric card.
alternately, check approval letter you got from HO

The OP has since extended their visa so unlikely they still have the old BRP card and possibly not the letter either. Not everyone realises the importance of keeping all HO docs.

HI All,

I do have all my documents and old BRP copies. The approval letters and everything. The date on the approval letter is 15th of may. However that is not what I'm after.

I was trying to Determine the date of application in my case. Going through the archives from 2013, I've found that the date of application is the day application is posted. I was able to confirm the date of my application (i.e the date I posted the application) by asking my HR when she generated the COS. Because I remember posting it the day after she generated the COS.

Thanks for your help everyone !

What is it exactly that you are trying to determine or establish? It is not very clear what or why you are asking this?

Hi CR001,

The reason was because my immigration lawyer had asked me to tell him exact date I applied for my Tier 2 application (to make sure it was before 6th of April). If you look at my other topic (Tier 2 to ILR salary query), I may have to apply for ILR using the Shortage occupation route in the last 6 years.
I was just trying to confirm that date.

I hope that makes sense.

Your best option would be to do a Subject Access Request. I don't think anyone on the forum can help you with the date you applied or possibly applied if you don't know the information yourself and don't have a copy of the application etc from that time.

Out of interest, what was the start and end dates of your PSW visa?

Hi CR001

I think getting an SAR is the best solution. I'll get that done ASAP.

PSW brp says valid until 02-02-2014

I do remember posting it in nov 2011 but it got delayed because of an error from UKVI.

So presumably you applied for Tier 2 before your PSW expired which is before 6th April, yes??

I think SAR is the only way you might get the information you are after.

Alternatively, a £100pa increase to meet the requirements is hardly going to flag up to HO

Thanks CR001

I do want the salary increase however its looking unlikely. CEO is new, and new CEOs rarely take a look at exemptions. However I'm still hoping it would happen since its not too much of an increase. In case it doesn't, I would have no choice but to go though the other route. I'm just preparing n advance and hoping for the best!

£8.33 per month will hardly break their bank account will it

well its not £100 but £400, I think you misread it.

Even then its still a small amount. The problem isn't that its just £400. but that if they increase my salary and other colleagues find out, then they will have to do it for them too. Thats where the problem is. The company in UK has over 2000 employees. Thats how HR looks at it.

However I have just had my performance review and asked my manager to increase my salary based on that. He seemed to agree with me and understood what I said. Lets see what happens.
