Income requirements

Post by Zig » Thu Oct 19, 2017 9:37 pm

My wife is a brit with permanent resident card, and I american. We've been married for 12years and have 3 children.. 1 born in the uk but holds a birth certificate of american born abroad and the other two born in America. She said she can get them all uk passports and that simply makes them british? She's in the uk and just started work at £8.50 and will be moved to £9.00 after 3months the employer states he will do a contract for a 40hour work week. How important is it being so close to the requirement that she works 40hours every week? Can I apply for my spouse visa in six months?. If denied should I be worried about my family?

My wife is a brit with permanent resident card
Is she British born or British by naturalisation after getting PR?

She needs to show evidence, payslips and bank statements, of earning a minimum of £18,600pa which works out to £1,550pm.

So CR001-so she needs to earn £1550pm for 6 strait months? How about the kids uk passports, they are fine to fly into the uk on American passports with a 6month visitor visa and get uk passports with no issue? Thank you for all of your responses.. She "My Wife" is a PR in the USA but British wanting to live back in the UK.. All kids American except first.

Also if she falls just shy of that mark £18,600 can we use saving if so how much do we need? I've got a few buck from a house we sold.

The formula is weird, the first 16k of any savings is discounted, and the multpilcation factor on any short fall is x 2.5, so say you are 2k short, you'd need to have in savings 21k, ie (2x2.5)+16.

Or something like that...

It depends how much savings you have. The first £16,000 is likely to be disregarded.
