Tier 2 ICT Long term Extension changes?

Post by aarontyt » Mon Oct 23, 2017 11:13 am

My current 3 years Tier 2 ICT long term visa is expiring soon, when my employer is trying to extend it for another 2 years on their system they found out that the extension option is gone?

There's a lot of changes made to Tier 2 Visas this year but does anyone know if extension is not possible anymore?

Thanks

I have extended this year using the below link

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... -long-term
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.

I've seen that but company doesn't like me doing it myself. Did you have to get a new CoS for the extension?

What April changes are you referring to? ICT Short Term is no longer available. ICS Long Term is still possible.

Yeah that's the only thing I read from articles, but company was implying there might be some changes which are not published online. As they can't find the extension option under the sponsors system. I suspect they never did their research properly anyway.

Mine was done last January. Yes, a COS is required for extension
Are they unable to generate a new COS?

Sorry from bringing this up, just wondering if anyone know from their experience that does employer usually apply for this extension or do we HAVE to do it ourselves? My employer reckons they can do it (apart from just generating CoS) but I'm worried that it's not true.

The applicant usually applies as the applicant has to submit biometrics etc and sign the form. If your employer is going to do it 'for you', make sure all the information is correct as if it is not, you are the one that will get deception refusal against your name.

Employers also rarely pay the visa fees and immigration health surcharge fee.

Thank you, I thought so too but they reckon it's still "too early" when i asked for CoS (only a bit more than 2 months left on my visa) and insists it's better that company submits the application. :(

They apply for COS, you apply for visa (usually).
