Hello All
My husband had an appointment in Sheffield PSC tomorrow. He just received a call telling that due to IT Failure they are unable to process with the appointment tomorrow. Further details will be given in email tomorrow.
I would like to know if anyone else had any experience like this. We dont have a clue what to do. Very depressing and annoying

Thanks for youe reply
I know he has to wait for email. But curious to know if it has hapened before and what are normal HO procedures int these scenarios.
We travelled to Sheffield specialy for this appointment and have no other business to do. What would you suggest wait till tomorow or just head back.

Yes it has happened many times in the past.
They will either rebook or refund PSC fee.

Hi Amyski04,
I had my appointment yesterday (Liverpool Centre) and my caseworker was unable to make a decision due to the IT failure you mentioned. I was wondering if you received the email and what it was about? Just curious to know if the servers are up and running and how long i'd have to wait for my decision now.
Thanks in advance!

It seems this is a countrywide problem. A poster on another forum was given a new date for next Monday and another on a different forum has received the email instructing him/her to call and make a new appointment. The concern is whether financial documents will have to be updated to be within the 28 day limit on the date of the new appointment.

Hi xeeya2310
He did not receive any email so we ended up going to centre. Where we were told if we are aware of the situation. They did still let us in, sat there for 3 hours and were given the letter that they can not make a decision due to IT Failure
By talking to other applicants and security guard i gathered that there is countywide problem that does not allow HO computers to check applicants background and biometric id. We have been given no timeframe as higher management had no clue they were coming and announcing one thing later other person will come as announced completely opposite.
Did the same thing happen in Liverpool or you had different experience
Thanks

Hi Amyski04,
My appointment was for 10am, but I think the IT issues they are currently having didn't start till about midday. There were quite a few people who received approvals prior to this time. There were no announcements and I wasn't told until around 5pm that I was unlikely to get a decision on the day. My caseworker sent me home with a letter and that I will receive my documents and decision in the post. I did ask for a timeframe but she couldn't confirm anything.
I just wish they were able to give us a timeframe. Its quite annoying and there is no way of knowing if the IT issues they are having have been resolved and whether applications are now being processed. I was reading previous posts and it seems like applicants received a phone call to let them know about the decision but that was a few years ago so things might have changed from then. Was your husband able to get his biometrics done then?

Yes he had his biometrics done. He also asked for the time frame and they were unable to confirm it they said they will update him via phone. He was frustrated cause he had a big bag full of documents to show incase if any questions arises for his previous leaves to remain. But unfortunately this issue happened and we had to come without any clear answer. He asked to the women who gave her letter that he has loads of other documents on him that show, but she said application is fine as she has seen it. So dont know what to make of it. Its very annoying as it also says on letter not to contact them. So All we have to do is wait
Few applicants there raise questions of refunds as they are not getting premium service but no one in management had a clue

Nothing, this wait is frustrating. I don’t even know if their systems are working now or whether they’re processing applications. It’s ridiculous!!!

Thats not right, they must have to provode you with a confirmation letter. we were goven a letter like all other applicants who left before us, on the letter provided there is a case refernce number and case id. whenever we chceked application status on UKVI status check tool it says “awaiting decision”. This was last updated on their systems24th oct. So there has not been any progress since that day.
Management in centre were very affirming to provide premium service once the problem has been resolved.

Thanx for your reply
That’s true they should have provided at least a reference I can’t even check my application’s status. Even I asked the lady who took my application form and docs that are you giving me any letter or app Ref she said no I hav put it in our system.I’m more worried now.
Thanx for reply AMYSKI04
