Processing time JUST EEA PR

Post by PortugueseEU » Tue Oct 24, 2017 12:15 pm

Hi everyone,

I thought I would start a chain just for EEA PR (not non-EEA PR). This is because I usually take a lot of time to filter through the non EEA PR comments and thought a clean sheet for all EEA would be good.

I applied for EEA PR as a student, job seeker and worker.

After MANY months of chasing people I managed to get the documents I needed to show that I had comprehensive sickness insurance while I was a student. According to my lawyer, you do not need comprehensive sickness insurance for the time you are a jobseeker which is great. To prove my residency as a student I sent letterS from both my universities, bank statements, notary certified confirmation from my parents that they supported me financially and I never relied on the state, bills, tenancy agreement, poll registration, etc. Multiple documents for each year as a student.

However, you can only be a job seeker for 91 days according to the regulation. I found a job on my 71st day of being a job seeker but only started working on the 99th day. I explain that I was just awaiting for my job to commence during the period from when I secured the job (sent email confirmation with contract attached AND employer's letter stating commencement date showing that I did indeed accept and work on that role) therefore I was only really job seeking for 76 days. To prove I was a jobseeker I sent approximately 10 email confirmations of applications, job rejections and interview invitations.

Applying as a worker was relatively easy, gave them 3 P60s, payslips and employers letters. In addition, to a number of bills and bank statements with my address to further prove residency (just in case!).

We don't need multiple topics for PR timelines. Please continue in the topic that already exists which is monitored daily.
