visa for wife - Tier 1 dependant - BC

Post by n8net » Wed Oct 25, 2017 3:58 pm

Hi,

my wife came to UK as Tier 1 dependant in Feb 2013 (my visa at that time).
then she changed to FLR(M) in March 2015 when I applied for ILR and was given 36 months leave.

and since then I hv become BC from 2017, and I now my wife's FLR(M) going to expire next month.

Given this, what VISA she should apply for. I did some research, looks like she cannot apply for ILR, instead
need to apply for FLR(M) again.

is this correct ? when she becomes eligible for ILR ?

also what are the requirements for FLR(M) that is new since March 2015.

does she need to sit for English exam again ?

thanks

also what are the requirements for FLR(M) that is new since March 2015. A2 English plus 2 year proof of cohabitation and the same financial requirements and she has to pay the £500 immigration health surcharge plus the visa fee.

does she need to sit for English exam again ? Yes, A2 is required for FLR(M) extension.

thanks

No preference as such, they are all acceptable and all cost around £150.

ok great..cheers.

but, does some of them involve written test as well and others don't ? as I see some differences in the "minimum level required" ?

what is the preferrence of those who hv taken the tests ? in terms of being 'easy', hard etc..

understandably, want to take tests that has higher pass rates ?

also are there any study materials available free on line similar to LIFE In THE UK ?

thanks

It is not a course in Englsih, it is merely a speaking and listening test, takes 10/15 minutes.

ok thanks..

I was just worried in the pdf I posted earlier
Integrated Skills in English Trinity College London Trinity College London A2
ISE Foundation
Reading: Pass; Listening: Pass;
Speaking: Pass; Writing: Pass

so, no material that will help in preparing ? just want to pass in one go given £ 150 ar risk ?

if failed, can it be taken next day ? or any cooling off....

from what I can see, someone lived in the UK for 3 yrs should breeze this test ?

If failed it can be retaken at any time. Not sure why people always post about 'cooling off' for things not related to Tier 2 General.
