Wrong Visa Type.. Help!!!!!

Hi everyone

I think I've messed something up big time and would love some advice.

I submitted an application for my wife who is currently in Pakistan and have had all the complete documents sent to Sheffield. However 2 days later I've realised that on the online form I chose settlement>settlement>married instead of a marriage visitor visa.

Will this cause me a huge problem? Can I call them up and change this on the phone?

Have you paid the visa fee already? If yes, how much did you pay?

You should have selected 'settlement'; 'settlement'; wife.

What you have selected is a Fiance settlement visa which is only valid for 6 months.

A marriage visitor visa is only for 6 months and only to get married in the UK and then leave.

Is there a way I can fix this or deal with this? Is the application likely to get rejected?

I paid around £1,464 + £550 for priority.

You would have to make a new application.

Not sure what HO will do but probably won't refuse it.

Hypothetically speaking if she got this visa, would I then apply again before the 6 months are up.. or do you mean do it like right now?

If she got the fiance visa to marry in the UK (which costs £1464), she will have to apply to extend on form FLR(M) before expiry and you will have tp meet all the same requirements again, pay the visa fee £993 (postal) PLUS £500 immigration health surcharge.

Argh such a mess! Yes submitted, paid + she's done her biometrics. I hope they don't refuse it and I can act on your above suggestion!

No, because that is a visit visa and she can live in the UK for 5 years on a visit visa.

Thanks Casa. I hope there'll be no further problems when I apply for FLM (R) (apart from forking out another £1,600!). I presume I can't apply for this until closer to the 6 months being up? For example, if she gets her visa in December I wouldn't be able to apply in Jan?
