Permanent Residency Card after applying for BC

Post by danseb » Tue Oct 31, 2017 8:45 pm

Hi

Does anyone know what happens to a Permanent Residency Card once an application to British Citizenship is made and approved? would I get it back along with my papers?

The question comes because I might need to travel before getting the British passport, so if I still have the card I could potentially travel with it and my original non british passport.

Thanks.

UKVI should be returning all originals (except LITUK I think), assuming you applied by post.
NB to other readers: Use NCS, the small fee is worth it.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

I think you answered this before so just to be sure I ask you again :) : I have a DCPR as I'm an EU citizen. Once I've had my ceremony, do I keep this or do I need to return it as it seems people with BPR must do?
Can you confirm I will not be bound by the 5 days rule or fine?

Cheers!

You don't have to return your PR card.

Thank you CR001,

is there anything to be returned at all or does that only apply to non-EU citizens with a Biometric card?

thanks again! :D

It applies to non-EU migrants who hold ILR BRP cards.
