VFS.Global's new scanning process of supporting documents

Post by WetJeans » Thu Nov 02, 2017 11:26 am

Hi all,

I'm just going through the hassle of sorting out the supporting documentation for the visa and I notice that VFS.Global now have a document scanning process for the supporting documentation as outlined:

http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/India/pdf/Ne ... rocess.pdf

It says that all documents that aren't on A4 paper (eg. passports, bank statements) need to be photocopied onto A4 paper.

I have two questions regarding this:

1) Do these need to be colour photocopies?

2) According to the information in the guide, my bank statements have to be on official bank stationary, now that they are being photocopied, this kind of takes away the "officialness" of the document that will be submitted. So what is the point? Can I just print out my bank statements instead?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

You have previously posted about visitor visas and spouse visas. Which application does this topic relate to??

The link you have provided very clearly states though that it is for Tier 1 and Tier 5 applicants.

This is specifically about a Tier 1 visa in this case. I'm applying for a Chilean national, and the information in the guidance document for Chile is slightly different and indicates that the document scanning applies to all categories of visa ( http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/chile/pdf/DO ... ANNING.pdf ) but I thought that the forum wouldn't appreciate a document in Spanish so I found the first version of it in English and wrongly assumed the content would be identical.

If you've read my previous posts you can probably detect an element of desperation in all the options I've been considering. When my wife obtained her visas previously, it was so straight forward... and cheap. Now we have children and they are missing their mother terribly.

I previously discarded the option of a Tier 1 Category B application because I was unable to obtain pay stubs and bank statements on official letter headed paper. And the bank refused to produce any official document to support the validity or integrity of the documents.

So now I'm coming to the 6 month mark of living back in the UK and I might as well apply under Category A which is more straight forward. My bank statements aren't A4-sized so will need to be photocopied, which goes to the heart of the two questions in my original post about being in colour and about the "officialness" of the statements if they are just photocopies. If I'd known that photocopies are sufficient, I could have gone ahead with the Category B application earlier.

I don't understand your reference to 'option of a Tier 1 Category B'. Is she not applying for a spouse settlement visa?

So I'm clearly confused.

You are right, it is a spouse settlement visa.

I want to meet the financial requirement due to my salaried employment - Category A, I'm almost with my employer for 6 months. Does that make more sense now?
