No.Do I have to get my current visa cancelled and submit the BRP card in UK itself before applying for new visa ??
It will automatically be cancelled when/if you are granted a Tier 2 General visa.Please suggest what will happen to my current visa & BRP when I apply for new T2 general visa

Unless it is submitted with your new application, in which case HO will retain it. It will be invalid so of no use to you.So can I just keep the current BRP card with myself
No. You are not dependent on your spouse's employer, you are dependent on your spouse as a PBS Dependent.plus, does my Spouse (main applicant) needs to inform his employer that his Dependent is switching visa ?
