Switch into Tier 2 General

Post by sptula » Mon Nov 13, 2017 12:11 pm

Hello Moderator(s),

I am currently staying in UK on T2 ICT long Term Staff Partner (PBS Dependent) visa. My current BRP card has expiry date in June 2018

I have recently got a job and the company has applied for RCOS which I got it now.
I am planning to travel Home country this weekend fr applying Tier 2 general visa

Do I have to get my current visa cancelled and submit the BRP card in UK itself before applying for new visa ??

Please suggest what will happen to my current visa & BRP when I apply for new T2 general visa

No.

It will automatically be cancelled when/if you are granted a Tier 2 General visa.

Thanks for your prompt response

So can I just keep the current BRP card with myself

plus, does my Spouse (main applicant) needs to inform his employer that his Dependent is switching visa ?

Unless it is submitted with your new application, in which case HO will retain it. It will be invalid so of no use to you.
plus, does my Spouse (main applicant) needs to inform his employer that his Dependent is switching visa ?
No. You are not dependent on your spouse's employer, you are dependent on your spouse as a PBS Dependent.

Is this your spouse also posting?? (click)

Simply asking as you are both posting from the same IP and have the same last name.

Dear Moderator,

I am expecting RCoS approval in the November month allocation

Allocation/Approval Board meeting is happening today....

Any idea when do they notify employers post approval ?
