Studying on FLR - Family & Private Life

Post by Islander02 » Tue Nov 14, 2017 4:30 pm

Hello!

Last year I applied for my ILR and I was refused because I didn’t satisfy the financial requirements. Because I have children who are British, I got the Further Leave to Remain - Family & Private Life (10 year route). I am allowed to work any number of hours.

I just got a job and I’m thinking of studying further. I would like to know if I’ll be considered as an international student or local?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

International fees student as you do not have 'settled' status. You also likely won't qualify for Student Finance (if you are in England).

Thank you. But I don’t need to apply for any type visa just to study, right?

No you don't. You can study on the visa that you hold.

Following the supreme court ruling in Tigere.

If the OP is under 25 and have resided in the UK for half of his life, and has in the last 3 years held a lawful leave, such that he meets the 3 year ordinary residence test, then he will qualify for Student support.
