Next Step - FLR(M) Preparation

Post by FXR_1340 » Tue Nov 14, 2017 8:18 pm

Please let me apologise at the outset for what is a very lengthy (and needy!) post. Thanks in advance for all help and guidance offered.

Our thoughts are now turning to the next stage in our life together and that is FLR(M). We are not quite ready to submit so we are now just preparing the documents and completing the FLR(M) form….all 79 pages of it!! It need some careful thought and care to complete hence the questions and prep.

The documents we intend to submit in support of the FLR(M) application are:

Letter from my Employer
6 Months Pay Statements (most recent)
6 Months Bank Statements (most recent)
Mortgage Statement
Occupational Pension: Latest (June 17) Monthly Notice of Payment showing amount
P60 (most recent)

Passports

Birth Certificates
Marriage Certificate
Marriage Pics (it’s a very small wedding so there will not be much)
Utility Bills
Whatsapp call and message records
Itinery of trips visiting

Any other documents which may be helpful?

If it can be done in time, we hope to have the utility bill which shows both our names.
Also, we intend to open a joint bank account (or try to add my new wife to mine)..again if possible and time permits.

Looking at the FLR(M) form there are a few clarifications we need.

Section 1 - seeks the Title and Name of the applicant. Is this the title and name before the marriage or after the marriage?

The Name and Title as shown on her Passport is also requested and we will provide as written in the passport.

Section 6 – 6.8: “Add all addresses you and your sponsor have lived at in the 2 years preceding this application if you have lived at your current address with your sponsor for less than 2 years”

As we have just began living together, we assume we need to submit all addresses we have lived at (separately) in the last 2 years? We assume we will need to submit a copy of this page, each page showing our own details?

6.33 – “Do you and your sponsor have any shared financial responsibilities?”

This will be “No” unless the utility bill and bank accounts can be changed to joint accounts. Correct? Should we bust a gut trying to make this a “Yes”? Is this a big issue considering we are just married?

Section 7 – To meet the financial requirements of £18,600 it is intended to show my salary along with my monthly Civil Service pension income.

We will be selecting Cat A plus Cat E. Is this correct?

Section 9 - 9.12: “Have you had your fingerprints taken as part of a previous UK immigration application made in UK or abroad?”

Does this include the application for Fiancé Visa? (not sure if that happened but thought I would ask any way - cant get hold of my wife to be to ask if prints were taken........shopping trip in NJ  )

Section 10 – 10.2: Criminal Conviction 1; The nature of the offence was Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) about 3 years ago. She was fined $5,000. In such cases it is necessary to attend a court.

The form asks about the “Sentence Given”. Is this the $5,000? There was no imprisonment or loss of licence.

Grateful for all help offered and thanks for sticking with it.

Appreciated.

Section 1 - seeks the Title and Name of the applicant. Is this the title and name before the marriage or after the marriage?

The Name and Title as shown on her Passport is also requested and we will provide as written in the passport.
Visa will be issued in the same name as her passport so if the passport hasn't been changed, then it will be in her maiden name.

The form is used for a variety of spouse visa extensions. Simply list the address since she has been in the UK where you have been living together.
6.33 – “Do you and your sponsor have any shared financial responsibilities?”

This will be “No” unless the utility bill and bank accounts can be changed to joint accounts. Correct? Should we bust a gut trying to make this a “Yes”? Is this a big issue considering we are just married?
If you don't have shared financial responsibilities at this stage then it is a 'no'. You can add additional information in the relevant part of the form if necessary.
Section 7 – To meet the financial requirements of £18,600 it is intended to show my salary along with my monthly Civil Service pension income.

We will be selecting Cat A plus Cat E. Is this correct?
Not sure. Same as what you used when applying for the fiance visa.

Yes it includes the fiance visa application. ALL applicants submit fingerprints when they apply for a visa.

Not sure.

Thank you for your input and guidance.

Hopefully further input will come along soon which may answer the unsure areas.

Thanks again. Appreciated.

Is there any more guidance on the points raised in the OP?

We really want to be able to do a "dry run" on the FLR (M) form to make sure it is accurate and completed correctly.

Also, any more thoughts on the documents listed above? Is there anything else which may be helpful? My wife to be has had a letter from her bank in her name sent to what will be matrimonial home. We thought we could include this?

Thanks for any further help offered.

Good morning.

I guess no one can help further with this. We will just go for it and complete the forms as best we can. Fingers crossed.

Will report back as things progress.
