Hi All
Am changing employment in the UK and would be grateful for some advice on my situation.
I would like to know whether an "Order on Settlement on Behalf of Child or Patient" is to be declared at the time of completing my Tier 2 General leave to remain application (in-country). The facts are:
a) I had a minor road traffic accident in April 2015
b) I was insured, as was the person I rear-ended.
c) There was a minor travelling with him.
d) Apparently, as there was a minor, the insurers had to take the matter to the courts to certify the damages that were agreed as part of the personal injury claim.
e) There was no challenge / dispute on behalf of the court; they agreed to the amount stipulated in the proposal (£2400).
Furthermore, it goes without saying that I didn't have to pay the above monies, as I had comprehensive insurance coverage. The amount was settled by the insurers and I have been since discharged of any further liability in this matter.
I received a letter from the County Court which clearly names me as a defendant and clearly states the matter is concluded.
Do I have to declare the above, and if so, what would be the potential implications on my visa application, and more importantly in a few months time when I apply for ILR?
Any thoughts would be gratefully acknowledged and appreciated.
Thx
