Tier 2 Dependant Visa (A-Z)

Post by billallme » Tue Nov 21, 2017 10:40 am

Hi All

I recently got married and looking to understand what the process is and where I can get a clear and concise checklist of documentation that needs to be submitted. So far I have the below

1) Original Passport of Wife, Attested Copy of Husbands Passport
2) Attested Copy of Husband's BRP
3) 2 x Passport Sized Photographs
2) Birth Certificate
3) Marriage Certificate
4) 3 Months Bank Statements
5) 6 Months Payslips
6) Letter of Employment
7) Tuberculosis (TB) Certificate
Additional Evidence: Wedding Photographs, Wedding Invitation Cards, Whatsapp and all other conversation logs.

I have a few questions if anyone could answer please:

1) Is there a requirement for my wife to appear for the IELTS? If so, then does anyone know what areas are needed?
2) Do I (as the husband) in the UK need to personally submit anything anywhere?
3) The date for collection of the BRP is within 30 days, is that within 30 days of approval or within the 30 days of the "inteded" travel date that we mention on the application form?
4) Once approved, what sort of document is provided for travel if the BRP is to be collected from the UK?

It would be great if someone who has recently gone through this process provide their take on this.

Thanks in Advance
Bilal

1. No.

2. No. The online process will tell you what you/spouse are required to do.

3. Your spouse will get a 30 days visa issued in her passport. The requirement is to collect the BRP card from your nominated Post Office within 10 days of arriving in the UK. Spouse must travel to the UK within the 30 days of her visa vignette she gets abroad.

4. She gets a vignette in her passport.

Thanks for the response! Could anyone confirm the checklist? Am I missing anything?
