Tier 2 general dependent visa

Hi i am a holder of tier 2 visa under shortage occupancy list. I am planning to get my partner as a dependent visa but we are not married yet. We have a three year old son. What documents do i need to show? And does he need to take ielts? Please help. Thank you.

Where is your partner, UK or abroad?

If in the UK, what is his immigration status and history?

You say partner not spouse, are you married/unmarried?
