Voluntary Departure and Reporting to Home Office - Please Help

Post by Aktarh » Thu Nov 23, 2017 2:46 pm

Hi All,

I badly need some information on the topic.

My application for has been refused and the refusal letter states that 'I now must leave UK' and explanation what would happen if I don't. I have exhausted all appeal rights and not planing to submit anymore application.

I have already informed 'Voluntary Departure Services' that I will be leaving UK voluntarily and will be paying myself for my flight. My passport is still with Home Office and has now Expired. They advised me to wait until they provide me a letter so i can obtain an emergency travel document from our embassy.

So far, it seemed pretty straight forward until received a letter from Home Office this morning asking me to 'Report to Lunar House in Croydon' on the 4 December 2017.

I am freaking out just thinking of going there. The letter also mentioned that I am liable to be detained and removed. When I contacted Home office that I will be leaving voluntarily, they have sent me an email mentioning my decision. Shall I take the email with me? Now my questions are...

1. What are the chances that I will be detained when attending the home office in Croydon for reporting?
2. What actually happens there and has anyone already gone through this under same circumstance?
3. What should I do when i am there to avoid being detained?

Honestly, I don't want to stay in UK longer than necessary. If I had my travel document or passport with me, i would leave today. I have also called my embassy to see if they can issue passport so i can leave.

Please help me anyone with similar experience or knowledge about this. I thank you in advance.

It would be helpful if you stated what you have applied for and what the reasons for refusal were?

Also helpful if you stated your full UK immigration history.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I came to the UK in 2017 on student visa and completed my Degree, PSW and then Masters degree. As I have exhausted the number of year I can be on student visa, I have submitted an application on Human Rights which was refused subsequently with appeal rights. I appealed and withdrew the first application and submitted fresh application on Human Rights again which also been refused and I revived the refusal letter on 20 Dec. All refusal was based on that I didn't any ground on Human Rights.

All I would like to now, if I should be worried of being detained at the home office when reporting. Many Thanks.
