INDEFINITE LEAVE TO ENTER FOR CHILD BORN OUTSIDE UK

Post by layla1234 » Fri Nov 24, 2017 5:44 pm

Hi folks i have query on behalf of one of my colleague . basically he and his wife was in uk on Visa they both separated and wife went back home and gave birth to a child in 2011 they later divorced . now my colleague is British citizen and want to start process for his son who born outside UK to become British citizen . Can you please guide a right path to start from .

Can he apply for ILE indefinite leave to Enter for him ?

Or he has to apply for a visa for his son initially ?

Does he also need to show Full custody of child before he can actually apply any sort of visa for him ?

What are the requirement and how long the child has to stay in uk before become British citizen ?

Thanks

Child will likely not be successful in getting a visa without the mother applying and getting one too, which obviously is not going to happen if they are divorced.

Only if the mother applies and is granted a visa.

Yes. Sole Responsibility (click)

Hi layla1234

How is your friend getting along?

I am currently going through the same situation.

I am trying to bring my daughter to live in the UK with me.

I am a British citizen and when my daughter was born, I was on ILR.

Regards

Charly

Requirements. For a single parent, see also sole responsibility, etc.

Hi Vinny

What forms is that we need to fill out for the application.

I have to fill the followings forms from the information find online: APPENDIX 1 (VAF 4A JULY 2012) and the SU07/12 SPONSORSHIP UNDERTAKING.

Also I have to do an online application and book an appointment for my daughter in Cyprus where she currently resides.

Is there anything I am missing?

Your help will be very much appreciated.
