ILR : knowledge of English requirement / NARIC

Hi,

I am preparing for applying for my ILR soon. Knowledge of English Language requirement is confusing me a bit.

My query in relation to the above is the following:

Do I necessarily have to get a NARIC certificate by submitting to them all my qualifications details ( graduation and post-graduation done in India) or can I get an exemption on the basis that I had received the required points for Knowledge of English language by virtue of my Bachelors Degree when I first got the entry clearance on 01-Feb-2013 ? If so what proof do I need to show ?
In the guidance doc in the link below, on pg. 34/48 , it says - "If we have previously accepted a degree qualification as meeting the requirements for an earlier application, and leave was granted, we will not need additional confirmation from NARIC."

Can I trust the above ?

Additional question: I have a bachelors degree and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management as well, both from India. For the Diploma the guidance doc above doesn't make any such exemption. So, will Bachelors degree be sufficient for the Knowledge of English requirement ?

Is the purpose of NARIC only to certify knowledge of English by virtue of degree/diploma obtained outside of the UK ?

Immediate help on this will be much appreciated as I will need make arrangements accordingly.

If you don’t have UK degree ,you have to prove home office that your back home bachelors or masters is equivalent to UK degree standards .Home office will accept if you can authenticate your both degree and English medium certificates with uknaric .
You need both the certificates from uknaric ,go to naric website ,choose red route and send them your documents ,you need to send them original degree along with convocation certificate and a English medium certificate form your university backhome .it might take up to 4weekd for them to send you originals back with uknaric certificates .

Apply as early as possible and make sure you have all the required documents before hand .

However, what does the paragraph I highlighted in pg 34/48 in the guidance doc (link in the first message) mean ?

I want to apply for the ILR as soon as I am eligible ie 1st week of January( about 6-7 weeks left). Do you reckon, taking the English test would be easier ( ignoring the level of difficulty of the test) than arranging all the docs as I need to request for the Medium of Instruction in English certificate from my two Unis. And then NARIC would take it own time to send me the certificate. And it being holiday season might get delayed etc plus risk of misplacing of the original degree ( I know of one such case) etc. The cost will be the same in both cases I think GBP 150.

Just want an opinion -if considering the above tight timeline I am better off with the English test? And is the English test sufficient or do I still have to go to NARIC ?

Do you really want to risk a refusal and loss of the huge ILR fee for the sake of paying an extra £150 on a SELT English test or UKVI NARIC??

If you can manage English test ,go ahead with it. If you want uknaric certificate s asap use express option by paying a bit extra do they send u it in a week time

I'm very much confused about this as well: does one need NARIC proof for KoLL requirements if one's non-UK uni degree has already been accepted on previous leave applications? Unfortunately, we have a lack of reports back from people who asked this question across the forum. Can you kindly shed light based on your experience, please? Many thanks!
